San Japan is San Antonio, Texas largest anime convention. Located at the heart of the Riverwalk, we will be taking place at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, San Antonio Grand Hyatt Hotel and Marriott Riverwalk Hotel. We bring a wide variety of Japanese animation, culture, and unique fandoms all together for 3 days of continuous events. With over 14,600 unique attendees in 2014, we expect this to be our biggest event to date.

San Japan would like to welcome our Japanese Guest of Honors which is CG Animator and StudioGX founder Mitsuru “Mick” Kouzai and Anime Producer Yuji Matsukura.
 
Mitsuru “Mick” Kouzai has been a professional animator and manga artist in Japan since 1993. Mick has worked on a vast list of well-known anime and game series as a CG artist and CG director including: Campione!, Saint Seiya, Digimon, Animal Crossing, CASSHERN, Tales of Phantasia, Rogue Galaxy, and Linebarrels of Iron.
 
In 2005, Mick opened StudioGX Inc. which operates not only as a CG studio working hand in hand with industry leaders such as Toei Animation and J.C.Staff on popular titles, but also as a bridge connecting Japanese entertainment and pop culture to the rest of the world.
 
After graduating from the Yoyogi Animation School in Osaka in 1992, Yuji Matsukura joined J.C.STAFF. He quickly emerged from the ranks of his field and become one of the best known producers of J.C.STAFF which is unusual for most animators in their early twenties. He has produced a countless number of OAVs and dozens of anime series to credit including: Revolutionary Girl Utena: The Movie, Azumanga Daioh, Ai Yori Aoshi (TV), His and Her Circumstances (TV), Cat Soup (OAV), Excel Saga (TV), Ikki Tousen (TV), Nodame Cantabile (TV), Slayers Revolution (TV), Toradora! (TV), Love Stage!! (TV), Honey and Clover (TV), R.O.D. -The TV-, Hayate the Combat Butler!!, Shakugan no Shana, Witch Craft Works (TV), Anime Mirai 2015,and much, much more.


For those interested in our popular event PokeBattle!, where Live Action Pokemon battles take place, we now have the rules posted along with the ability for teams to sign-up. You will need to be in Pokemon cosplay (Kigurumis are okay) when battling.


San Japan would like to announce our next guest, Yuka, a model and creator is making her first debut in USA at San Japan. Yuka has modeled for various brands, music videos, and fashion shows. She currently models for Enchantlic Enchantilly as a fashion show model and post card model.
 
San Japan is happy to host our first brand Fashion Show with Enchantilic Chantilly. If you are interested in modeling in it please apply at the link.
 


Information and tickets for our Lolita Tea Party is now LIVE! Be sure to check the page as the dress code has been updated for 2015 along with information. There will be a limit of 80 seats available total at $30/seat which we are anticipating that they will sell out quickly.
 
Fashion guests Saxony LLC (Angelic Pretty USA) and Fashion Guest Fumiko Kawamura will be guests at the tea party. We also want to announce that we are in the works to bring out a Japanese fashion model to join us who will be making her USA DEBUT at San Japan. This should be ready to announce in early to mid April.
