DJ @ SJ – Info & Submission Form

We are looking for multiple DJs to spin at San Japan on Friday night of our convention. We will expect thousands to be attending our popular late-night "dances".

We are are looking for people who know how to put a good performance with a good variety of Electronic Dance Music to young people in the 15-25 age demographic.

To apply, put together a 35-60 minute mix and fill out the form below. If we like what we hear then we'll be in contact. There will not be any compensation to perform at San Japan except a complimentary convention badge along with your name getting publicized on the SJ website and program book.

Depending on the number of DJs selected, each DJ will have 60 to 90 minutes to spin and play their mixes on a selected evening. It will be on the selected DJs to bring their own DJ gear when performing.

The deadline for a DJ Mix submission is June 15th, 2013. Selected DJs will be notified by July 15th, 2013.

Pro-Tip: Don't pick a bunch of random Japanese songs thinking that'll help you in being selected. We will be listening for how well the mix flows, the consistency and talent put into the mix. It takes a lot more than just making a simple mix-tape of random songs. At all possible, please make the mix radio-friendly so that we can post your mix on-line if you are a selected DJ.

Mixes must be recent. We will no longer accept mixes made prior to 2012.

Again: Don't submit if you're not willing to travel to San Japan in San Antonio, TX, USA. We will not cover travel or lodging costs. If you don't live in the USA then you probably shouldn't submit your mix.
