It was the first I read about when I woke up, and it's been on my mind all day. ;_; I have a friend in Japan. I hope she's alright...

I heard about it on my limnology fieldtrip... If the Earthquakes were that sevire, then think about the Tsunamis that are heading towards N.A.... The natural occurence isn't over just yet...

Yea, it's pretty scary, the videos I've seen haven't helped either >.< Especially this one video where the guy is calling out "Mom! Mom!" and then rushing out of the house. It's really scary. I got a text from my friend in Japan who said she is fine, her and her family live in Fukushima, and apparently they only felt some minor quakes that brought down their kitchen dishes. I'm happy she and her family are safe.

Also, I heard that there was a bunch of guys running around taking advantage of stranded women in all the chaos, pretending to be police and "offering shelter" to them when really, they've just been raping or assaulting them >.< I think they opened an women's only shelter in Shibuya to help the problem. Ahh~ It's so scary!

first i do in the morning is turn on the TV and watch CNN, and seeing "8.9 magnitude struck Japan" is not a good way to start off the day.

I have an aunt that's stationed in Japan and wondered if she was ok, but she's a Marine so she's a tough gal, later that day she posted that she was fine which made our family sigh in relief

Still, my heart goes out to the folks over in Japan

Support the victims by either giving towards a donation pool, like at the

One Piece Podcast (http://helpjapan.onepiecepodcast.com/2011/03/12/dont-just-pray-for-japan-help-japan) - cuz they're totally legit.

Or just donate straight to Red Cross themselves.

You should wait before you donate to Red Cross

I heard about this last night at around 1 AM. Thankfully we managed to get in touch with my Grandma's family. (They're all okay, FYI.)
I'm really more concerned with some of the after effects this may produce.

While I may wait to donate some money, I think I'll try to donate some blood next week.

I wish I can donate blood, but they won't let me in America since I'm born outside of the country. (Weird ain't it?)

Anyways, I'm standing by as well, waiting to donate when the time is right.

What country are you from? I'm from Mexico, and they allowed me to donate blood. D:

The reason RedeadDie and I cannot donate blood is because of the Chernobyl disaster (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chernobyl_disaster). Basically, if you lived/were born in Europe (I don't know where they draw the geographic line, but it included Germany) between 1986-199? (I honestly do not know the cutoff year), you cannot donate blood. I mean, if you flat out LIE, you can. But really, that's just not cool.

@Rassilon/RedeadDie: That's too bad.

Whew, I kept hearing rumors that Satoshi Tajiri was missing, but Nintendo has everyone accounted for. What a relief. ^^

Anime News Network has a lot of coverage on Japanese Artists and Voice Actors (Along with more Anime-related coverage):

Oh I see. Well that's unfortunate; But I suppose it's all for the safety and health of the person receiving the blood :<

Does that mean you can't be a organ donor either?

Surprisingly, they let me say that I am on my ID card. :/ Strange...can't give blood but I can give organs.

I heard about this footage from a podcast I listen to. I don't want to depress anyone so if you can't handle this kind of stuff you probably shouldn't watch. Its very sobering and it made me cry.

godspeed japan.
