HIIII EVERYBODY.
I'm getting REALLY impatient, waiting for the only two cons I have the capability of attending, so I shall occupy my time on the forums instead!
I'm currently a junior in high school who studies Japanese. Last year, I placed first in regional and state competition in a Japanese speech contest for the short poetry division, and recently did the same with long poetry. Next year, I will be attempting the free speech division.
Other than that, I really like manga and anime. Most of the time, I watch just because I stumble across it, but I do occasionally listen to recommendations from friends (one of my friends introduced me to Angel Beats! and every kept telling me to watch Durarara!! so I did. Love them both). I'm currently up to date on Katekyo Hitman REBORN! (the manga), and am trying to watch a gazillion different things at once.
My first con was Mizuumi-con in 2008, and I have been going to every Mizuumi-con and San Japan ever since. This year's Mizuumi-con on March 31st will mark my 9th anime convention. It's not a lot, really, since it's JUST Mizuumi and SJ, but once I get my driver's license, you can bet I'll be all over the place, going to every con I can (REALLY wanna make it to A-kon! Otakon is a distant dream as well...)
