Hmm...okay, here's a good outline for what I'm looking for:
-16+ rating or higher
-Something dramatic/sad/depressing. It can have funny or happy moments, but overall I want it to be sad or a good drama
-Nothing with tooooo much action (unless it seriously drives the point). As in, I like my drama to be more about normal people, not fighting people who so happen to be involved in drama lol

Ah. You don't know what you're missing. It's definitely a great example of what I'm looking for. I don't know anybody who didn't cry after reading the whole thing (it's only 7 books). I'd lend you some, but they're so super expensive and hard to find these days ><
