It's in the center of Downtown San Antonio, right by Hemisfair Park and across the highway from Alamodome. Look for Hyatt from Marriott, and it will be on the other side.

Kuri stated it well. We're basically moving 3 blocks from the Marriott. We will be taking over the 4th floor of the Hyatt too so we can make SJ a 24 hour con (HBG shuts down at midnight, no If/Ands/Buts).

We have to go with what's available to us. I did want late July or first weekend of August but the space wasn't available at the Hyatt.
One of the more interesting parts is that we will be sharing space with the Dallas Cowboys who will be training at the Alamodome.

I never thought it'd get big enough, or we wouldn't have enough money, to hold at the HBG back when we were just planning SJ1.5 ('08). Now that's no longer an issue and actually trying to figure out what to do for 2013/SJ6 as we're only taking a small part of the HBG (15%) and we a lot more room to grow into.

I can't wait to see the attendance figures for this SJ; as awesome as they were last year (and will be for 4TW), I can't imagine what they'll be like for SJ5 O.O

I'm just nervous what the numbers will be this year. Many signs show that we'll be maxing out the capacity of the Marriott this year (and they can handle around 6100). Don't worry, there won't be a cap.

I will be making this into a big deal but this does mean we are having a split setup again. The walk between the two sections is 1 block, shorter than the first two years of it being 2 blocks.
Panels, Video Rooms, Autographs & Main Events will be at the Hyatt (4th Floor). They are accessible by elevator & escalator. These will be open 24 hours.
Dealer Room/Artist Alley, Gaming (Console/Tabletop), Registration, Social Room, Sleeping Samurai, Phootshoot, Cosplay, all will be at the HBG Conv. Center. That side shuts down at midnight.
There is a fancy theater on-site but we will not be using it until probably 2013 since it costs $6k a day to rent it. I do plan to eventually pick it up.
The one thing I am stoked about is the size of Main Events which is 2.25x in size. For SJ4, Main Events can hold around 800-850 people. For SJ5, that room will be able to fit 2200-2500.
