I thought it would be cool to start a thread with perspective panel ideas.
So I was thinking it would be cool to have another tea panel. This time focusing on black breakfast teas.

I would like to bring back the Kingdom Hearts Panel from San Japan 4TW, but maybe that's just me?

Ok. I have an idea about a panel. I think it would be cool to have an "Education through anime" panel. I've watched a lot of anime and I realized some time ago that some of them actually have a life-lesson/educational underline in the themes or plot. Like the Ghibli films. Ponyo for example is about Polution; Pom Poko is about taking care of the nature. So I thought this was cool idea.![]()

LOL, you can just shorten that to "the Miyazaki films are about taking care of nature":
-Princess Mononoke
-Laputa
-Nausicaa
-Ponyo
-Pom Poko
They all have the same theme, and for most of them, it's not even all that subtle. I believe Miyazaki himself is pretty upfront about his views though.
Would love to see a panel on literary influence in anime or a historical cross-cultural look east/west influences (like, for example, "Bewitched" and "I Dream of Jeannie" being a major catalyst for the entire magical girl genre and its continued popularity or that modern kabuki began as rewrites of Shakespeare history plays). Not sure that it would be a particularly popular panel...I've been to two other cons that had one on their schedule, but both ended up cancelled.
I'm also a major fan of how-to panels...

I'll repost when I come up with more, but, for now...
The one panel I've been wanting to see for forever now is something along the lines of "If you want to involve Japan in your future, here's how."
Basically, have some people come in with careers in related fields. Not just voice acting (as they always have panels and always answer questions on how to get in the industry), but for potential mangaka or animators, as well as people who want to live or work in Japan for whatever reason. Maybe bring in some people for the JET program, as well as somebody who was born and raised in Japan/lived there a significant portion of their life and can talk about what it's like over there, etc.

I had a bit of an idea, but I dunno how well it'd function. Basically, "Tips on Learning Japanese." For instance, not everyone has access to a college or local program that teaches Japanese, so the panel would try and give them alternatives to college classes. They'd be rated based on availability, price, and ease of understanding. The panel would also go more in depth into the pros and cons of each alternative. Also, maybe a mini-lesson on numbers, how to tell time, and how to introduce yourself in Japanese.
I would LOVE to run a Gintama panel...mostly for it's popularity in Japan and not so popularity in America.
Hey I just thought about another idea for a panel. How about "traveling characters"? Anime characters that some how show up in different animes. I thought about this a while. For example: that girl from mezzo showed up in kite liberator. I have a few others but I think it would be awesome to have someone do this panel.
