Ugh. Twilight. The bane of my little feminist existence. It seems no book can come out without SOMEHOW being Twilight-influenced.
Your book got vampires? Twilight did it. Your book has werewolves? Twilight did it. Your book has a character with more than one potential love interest? Twilight did it. Your book has a couple where one person is human and the other is a supernatural entity? Twilight did it. Your book takes place in Washington? Twilight did it.
Twilight didn't do it ANY of those things first. There are hundreds of books with vampires, werewolves, love triangles/squares/polygons, supernatural/forbidden love that came out BEFORE Stephanie Meyer's books were sensationalized. And there will be hundreds of books that will come out until the end of time using those same exact plot elements.
As you can tell, I have read too many books/comics where dozens of ignorant people keep writing them off as Twilight knockoffs.
EDIT: Not to say there aren't Twilight knockoffs. Believe me. There are.

First Book = Loved it hated Peeta
Second Book = Got a little bored, but characters made it overall good. Still hated Peeta.
Third Book = I actually got bored when the action started in the second half of the book. I thought the ending was kind of rushed, left a lot of things unsaid, and made me feel empty after reading it. Peeta I didn't hate so much. (Maybe because he wasn't in it a ton like the other ones.)

Saw it, thought it was decent for a book to movie make. Had a lot of fun showing support to District 11 Tributes there.
Had a lot more fun with the guys making the epic comments behind us and saying when they showed Gale's reaction to certain parts of the game, "You mad bro?"

I just started Mockingjay. I read Catching Fire in about 6 hours, so obviously I am enjoying the series xD CF was soooo good... I just couldn't put it down!
Originally I was hesitant to read the Hunger Games trilogy, because I read Battle Royale ages ago and it's one of my favourite books. I felt like THG was a rip off, and had no interest in it. But then my BFF started reading it and wouldn't stop gushing, so I picked it up and it turns out that I was totally wrong lol I mean, the basic premise is similar, but the stories are very different.
