Just to let everyone know, apparently Hyatt has some program that lets you opt in for possible various room upgrades (I picked one that , if they approve it, will give me a pretty big room, instead of the standard it says it has a big meeting area(table and chairs, a couch with a bed and a bunch of other nice features). I also saw one that would let me opt in to get one of the suites for 15 a day extra , so has anyone else gotten this, or is this just a random thing?

As a man of the industry I can tell you what happened. Hyatt is either looking to overbook or possibly has overbooked and is looking to upgrade potential guests they think might be more flexible. In return Hyatt either frees up some numbers or gets back rooms they know are in demand. AND they score revenue on a room that possibly could have been vacant.
It's standard procedure but surprising to see they are already doing it, at our property we don't start upgrading overbookings until the day of arrival.
