What is the minimum age to rent a hotel room? You will need to be at least 18 years old with a major credit card. Contact the hotel if you have questions about policies and setting up your reservation. Remember, hotel rooms are $119+night (~$139 total with tax) a night and limited by the amount of rooms allocated to our group. It is $10 extra per person, per night.
Does the hotel have high-speed internet?It is $12.95/night in the hotel room. There is free internet in the lobby.
Are cheaper accommodations available? While there are other hotels in the vicinity, we ask that you stay in the convention hotel. The very financial future of the convention is dependent on us booking a certain number of rooms. You’ll have a much more pleasant experience if you stay at the convention hotel – you’re just minutes from the action instead of a hot walk in August.
Is there a charge for parking?Parking is $12 day if you are staying at the Grand Hyatt and the room is under your name. The discount will be applied when you check-in but be sure to let them know at Front Desk. Parking around the immediate area in garages is $10-$25/day. Uncovered parking is $5-$15/per day. Most offer 24-hour parking and will be listed. Beware: they do tow unauthorized vehicles. For more information about parking in the area, click here & here [pdf file].
What about elevators and escalators?All activities on the Hyatt side will be on the 3rd & 4th floor. There are 10 elevators to the 3rd & 4th floor. There will be escalators too inside the hotel.
Where can we get food?There is a 24 hour coffee shop & cafe inside the hotel and several restaurants at the hotel. There is a food court at the Rivercenter Mall and eateries in short walking distance which is open until 9PM. Do the hotels charge for cancellations or adjustments to reservations? The hotels will only charge if you don’t cancel 24 hours prior to check-in. There is no charge to make changes.

    i have a question if you only have enough for 1 person total but with help of others who are also staying can you do that?? or will it be 10 for each extra person still?

      Q) What should I do to get the lowest hotel rate?

      A) Click on “1″ on number of guests when reserving your hotel room.
      If you click on any number higher then the Grand Hyatt will be charging
      you extra $10 per guest ($119/2 people, $129/3 people, $139/4 people). ** We will not be inquiring on how many guests actually stay in your hotel
      room nor is it our business. Our only business is to ensure you have a
      great time at San Japan. **

    Do the hotels charge for cancellations or adjustments to reservations? And is the Marriott having the same deal on parking as the Hyatt was?

      The hotels will only charge if you don’t cancel 24 hours prior to check-in. There is no charge to make changes. There is no parking discount if you stay at the Marriott.

        Do you know of any other places that would let you park for 24hrs? Even if you have to go pay daily…

          The Marina parking next door to the Marriott Riverwalk is $10 for up to a full day but you must pay at 8am each day to get the full 24 hours. It is Cash Only. You have to be fast as it fills up fast on convention weekend since it is popular.

    How do the people attending the event who have a room under their name at the Grand Hyatt get the $12 parking fee? I’ve talked to different staff and they keep telling me it’s $25 for parking.

       They’ll get the discount applied to their bill during check-in.

    I was just wondering when you get a confirmation about booking a room. My boyfriend and I booked it some days ago and it said it would email us a confirmation of the room, but we still haven’t gotten anything. I also went back to the site and put in my email again to send it again and we still haven’t received anything so I’m kinda concerned….did it book a room or do we not get a confirmation of our booked room until later for the event? Just kinda worried x__X

      You will need to call the San Antonio Grand Hyatt to confirm and let
      them know that you’re not getting your e-mail confirmation. You can call
      them at (210) 224-1234. Ask for reservations.

    will there be any discounts on the rooms if you are a part of the event? this will be my 3rd year going and ill be doing a panel,and be a part of many of the things there.my mom is a volunteer there aswell. :D

      The discount is the $119/night room rate. We don’t get any further discounts from the hotel. SJ pays the same rate for its staff rooms as the attendees. Info is on the hotel page.
