Previous Conventions


This information about two one-day conventions that San Japan has helped organize.

For Anyone Looking For Info About Mizuumi-Con 2010 or beyond, San Japan is no longer affiliated or associated with the Mizuumi Anime Club. All of the information about Mizuumi-Con 2010 and beyond is at the official convention website: www.mizuumicon.org. Please do not e-mail San Japan about what's going on or looking for information about the convention. We will not be able to assist you since San Japan is not assisting the Mizuumi Anime Club in organizing the event. Below is all of the information about Mizuumi-Con 2009.

Our Lady of the Lake University Mizuumi Anime Club & San Japan Present: Mizuumi-Con

We will have dealers, artists, panels, console/arcade gaming, video room, tabletop gaming, dance, concert and a cosplay show. We will also be putting on our own signature event: COSPLAY DODGEBALL!

Josh Grelle

A native Texan, Josh was raised on stage and in the art studios of Central Texas. He performed on stage for over 15 years prior to starting work for A.D.V. Films at the start of 2004.

Kevin M Connolly

Kevin is probably best known for playing Master Sergeant Kain Fuery in Fullmetal Alchemist, but he's voiced characters in over 30 other shows for FUNimation, ADV Films and Illumitoon. In addition to voice acting, he has worked as an ADR director and script writer. He is currently a Lecturer of Drama at Our Lady of the Lake University.

The Slants

The Slants are an Asian dance/rock group from Portland, Oregon. The band was founded by Simon Young, formerly of The Stivs. They are one of the only Asian bands in the electroclash scene combining traditional electronic dance/snyth pop sounds oft compared to Depeche Mode, or Joy Division with a modern, aggressive edge. myspace.com/theslants

Amelie Belcher

Known as 'the angriest chick on the net', she is the creator of the popular web comic 'The Real Life Adventures of Amelie' at Cordeval.com which is read by desperately bored people all around the world.

A.V.Tactics

AVTactics, hailing from South Texas, is a group of underground dance music DJs and VJs that have combined forces to bring an audio-visual assault like never seen before. With their combined 50 years of experience in the underground dance music culture and advent fans of Anime and Japanese culture this group will provide more then just any ordinary showcase. myspace.com/txavtactics

Charity

This will be a charitable event. All money made from Artist Alley and Dealers, after expenses, will be donated to the OLLU Anime Club and CDP University Covenant.

Dealers & Artists

Dealer tables will only cost $60 and Artist Alley tables will be $30. We will enforce that AA tables be Art or Artwork Related Only otherwise you will be forced to pay for a dealers table. Tables will be available for purchase on the day of the convention at 8AM.

Get a jump on a Dealer or Artist Alley table and let us know you are interested in a table. (Artists can just enter their name under company name and are encouraged to enter their artwork-related website under company website.) Please note that this is not a Pre-Registration form for a table but merely a way for us to know about how many tables will be filled come Mizuumi-Con. All tables will be first come, first serve for dealers and artists.


San Japan: Zero Day Anime

November 10th, 2007 (10am - 10pm) to be held at Our Lady Of The Lake University. Badges will be $5 for admission or free if you Pre-Reg for San Japan 1.5. This is our way of saying "Sorry" for the debacle of San Japan 1.0 with the Holiday Inn Select.

Samantha Inoue-Harte (Voice Actor)

She is better known for her role as the Chocobo in Final Fantasy: Unlimited, the anime series, and as Kohran Li from the anime series Sakura Wars.

Larissa Wolcott (Voice Actor)

Most famous for her role as Excel from Excel Saga, this voice actor has been in other well-known ADV Anime including Comic Party Revolution.

Josh Grelle (Voice Actor)

ADV Voice Actor who has had well-known roles in Comic Party Revolution, Full Metal Panic and will be in the upcoming Air and Air Gear.

Amelie Belcher (Artist)

The Snags (Band)

Local San Antonio punk-rock band.

The Gear Project (Cosplay)

They've come to be recognized as experts in practical cosplay (aka - cosplaying on a budget). They are always more than willing to help out cosplayers, both new and more experienced.

Team Sugoi (Para-Para)

Austin based Paralist team.

Events

We will have panels, video room and a cosplay contest.
