San Japan Charity Auction

Our Selected Charity

The San Antonio AIDS Foundation (SAAF) was the first community-based organization created in response to the epidemic of HIV/AIDS in San Antonio. In 1986, an owner of a local gay bar, Robert Edwards aka Papa Bear, saw his patrons and friends dying from AIDS. Knowing many had no family or other support, he created SAAF House, a volunteer-run hospice. SAAF provided residential nursing/hospice services for almost 30 years to well over 1,500 individuals with HIV/AIDS. In 2009, SAAF added a 6-bedroom house, known as Carson House, to provide transitional housing for chronically unsheltered individuals living with HIV.

Our annual charity auction has items that you can not buy anywhere else will go up for bid. Bid on one-of-a-kind autographs, anime memorabilia & collectibles. Make plans to attend the Charity Auction on Sunday of the convention.
